Doi Inthanon Remains Cold with Lowest Temperature at 6°C Frost Continues to Appear

Popular with tourists Doi Inthanon remains cold with the lowest temperature at 6°C this morning Frost has appeared continuously for the 16th time this winter season

On 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that the atmosphere this morning at Doi Inthanon, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province, was lively. Many tourists, both Thai and foreign, climbed up to experience the cold weather on the mountain. The weather was favorable today with clear skies, although the temperature was slightly higher than yesterday. The lowest temperature measured was 6°C at the Kew Mae Pan viewpoint. The summit recorded 8°C, and the grass peak measured 0.6°C.

This caused the frost to form beautifully, covering the grass, leaves, and flowers with a sparkling white layer around the summit ranger station. Tourists were excited to witness the frost for the third consecutive day. They took out cameras and phones to photograph themselves with the frost as souvenirs and to share on social media. Today's frost phenomenon marks the 16th occurrence this winter season.

The atmosphere at the Kew Mae Pan viewpoint was equally lively, with tourists flocking to watch the first sunlight of the day as the golden sun slowly rose above the sea of mist. This viewpoint is a popular spot where visitors to Doi Inthanon wake early to capture the sunrise.
