They were reminded to drive carefully on the mountain roads, using low gear when ascending.

Meanwhile, Mr. Thapana Jankan, weather forecaster at the Northern Meteorological Center in Chiang Mai, reported that the general weather in Chiang Mai and the northern region is cold due to a strong high-pressure system or cold air mass from China covering upper Thailand.

Authorities advise people to take care of their health due to the colder weather. In Chiang Mai province, morning temperatures are as low as 14°C with highs of 28°C. At the mountain summits, it is cold to very cold with some frost; temperatures range from 1 to 8°C. The northeast wind blows at 10-20 km/h.
