A van from the Uthai Thani Provincial Public Health Office collided with a 6-wheel truck from the highway department in Nakhon Sawan, causing three deaths including a doctor, a nurse, and the driver. Many others were injured and rushed to hospital.
At around 3:00 p.m. on 10 Feb 2016, reporters reported a collision between a van and a 6-wheel truck on National Highway No. 1, Nakhon Sawan-Kamphaeng Phet route, Moo 6, Nong Kradon Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Sawan District. The accident caused multiple deaths and injuries.
Preliminary findings show the van belonged to the Uthai Thani Provincial Public Health Office, on a government inspection trip to Kamphaeng Phet Province, carrying eight passengers. The 6-wheel truck, owned by the highway department, was parked on the far right side of the road collecting logs and had a warning sign placed 200 meters ahead. The van first struck the warning sign before hitting the rear of the truck, resulting in three deaths at the scene and about five injuries.
Reports indicate the three deceased were a doctor, a professional nurse, and the van driver.
