At several gas stations in Mueang Phitsanulok District, gasoline has run out, leaving only premium grade available. People are forced to fill up because they have no other options, while stations limit refueling to 300 baht per vehicle.
At 10:00 a.m. on 17 March 2026, a reporter in Phitsanulok province visited gas stations in Mueang Phitsanulok District and found that diesel was beginning to be available at some stations, while all types of gasoline were in short supply. Only premium grade gasoline remained, priced at 46.59 baht per liter, forcing people to reluctantly fill up for fear of running out of fuel.
When asked, an attendant at one gas station said that last night the fuel delivery truck brought only about 3,000 liters of diesel fuel. No gasoline was delivered. Currently, the station limits refueling to 300 baht per vehicle, prohibits filling jerrycans, and bans multiple refills. It is still unknown when the next fuel delivery will arrive.
A local resident from Bang Krathum District, who traveled over 50 kilometers to find fuel in downtown Phitsanulok, said he happened to be in the city on business. He came to fill diesel and also fill a jerrycan to refuel his motorcycle at home. However, upon arrival, he found long lines and waited a long time. He then searched for another gas station but found none offering diesel, only premium gasoline priced nearly 47 baht per liter. He ended up buying 2 liters to use for his motorcycle at home.
A minibus operator refueling said to the reporter that currently he can only fill up 300 baht at a time. He operates the Phitsanulok-Bang Rakam route and can run about two trips per tank. He has to frequently find gas stations to refuel from a full tank each time and remains worried about running out of fuel mid-journey.
