
A pickup truck carrying onions skidded off the road and spilled its load across the street in Kamphaeng Phet. Police inspecting the scene found sacks containing 3 million methamphetamine pills. The driver is missing, and police are urgently pursuing him for prosecution.
At 05:00 on 19 Mar 2026 GMT+7, officers from Khanu Woralaksaburi Police Station in Kamphaeng Phet Province received a report of a pickup truck losing control and crashing onto the road's median. They proceeded to investigate the scene along with rescue personnel from Sawang Kamphaeng Phet at the Salok Bat station.
At the scene on Phahonyothin Road, Village No. 5, Ban Khlong Nam Yen Tai, Khok Phai Subdistrict, Khanu Woralaksaburi District, Kamphaeng Phet Province, an Isuzu D-Max pickup truck (bronze color) with a Chiang Mai license plate was found overturned and heavily damaged after going off the road. The truck was fully loaded with onions. The driver was not present at the scene.
In addition to many onions scattered at the scene, 15 sacks—black and yellow—were found containing about 3 million methamphetamine pills hidden among the onions. Police seized all evidence to investigate and identify those involved for prosecution. The driver has fled, and investigators are actively pursuing him to bring him to justice.
Local residents said that around just after 4 a.m., they heard a loud crash and went out to find a pickup truck carrying onions overturned and skidded in the middle of the road with no driver inside. Later, police inspected the scene and discovered the methamphetamine pills.
