
Devotees of the monastic community are caring for the remains. “Luang Pu Buaket” The abbot of Wat Pa Pang Kued Kittitham in Chiang Mai Province is preparing the venue for the royal bathing ceremony.
After Phra Ratchawatcharapatthamon or “Luang Pu Buaket” the abbot of Wat Pa Pang Kued Kittitham, Inthakhil Subdistrict, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province, passed away at 09:29 on 6 May 2026, as previously reported (Read news: Luang Pu Buaket peacefully passed away, the revered monk of Wat Pa Pang Kued, aged 92.)
Most recently, today (7 May 2026), it was reported that devotees of “Luang Pu Buaket” and the monastic community have prepared the venue for the royal bathing ceremony of Luang Pu Buaket at the main viharn of Wat Pa Dara Phirom, a royal monastery in Rim Tai Subdistrict, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, on Friday, 8 May 2026 (7th lunar day of the 6th lunar month).
Before the ceremony, devotees shared photos of youths supported by Luang Pu Buaket’s scholarships. Those who once cared for him during his lifetime are now caring for his remains at Wat Pa Dara Phirom. Devotees and followers contributed to offering a sandalwood coffin (for cremation) as a final Buddhist tribute, and also prepared a coffin covered with 99.99% pure gold (the primary coffin, not to be cremated, intended for museum preservation), along with silk cloths to cover the remains, and cremation wood and souvenirs.
Additionally, devotees posted auspicious historical photos on social media, noting that on 30 October 2018 at 16:11 (by Cherdpong Kingkaew), he was escorting Luang Pu Thong back to Chiang Mai after a Buddhist invitation in Bangkok. He saw Luang Pu Buaket walking to board the plane and paid respects, inviting him to wait together with Luang Pu Thong. During the wait, they conversed; it was a very auspicious moment that always brings good feelings when viewed.
The schedule for the royal bathing ceremony of Phra Ratchawatcharapatthamon (Luang Pu Buaket Pathumsiro), former advisor to the provincial ecclesiastical office of Chiang Mai-Lamphun-Mae Hong Son (Dhammayutika Nikaya), and former abbot of Wat Pa Pang Kued Kittitham, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province, will be held at the main viharn of Wat Pa Dara Phirom, a royal monastery in Rim Tai Subdistrict, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, on Friday, 8 May 2026 (7th lunar day of the 6th lunar month).
