Temporary Closure of Track Between Khun Tan and Mae Tan Noi Stations Due to Landslide After Heavy Rain

Khun Tan Railway Station announced an emergency temporary closure of the track between Khun Tan and Mae Tan Noi stations due to heavy rain causing a landslide at the northern entrance of the tunnel.

At 17:10 on 14 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Khun Tan Railway Station received a report from the Khun Tan Operations Center of heavy rain causing a landslide at the northern tunnel entrance within Khun Tan Station's area, blocking the railway. The track was closed at 17:18. Civil engineering staff were contacted and are currently addressing the issue. It is expected to take about three hours to clear. Several trains have been delayed due to this incident.

At 18:30, the Khun Tan train operator reported progress on clearing the track has reached about 80%, with completion expected within approximately 30 minutes.

Regarding train status, Special Express Train No. 14 is waiting for the track to reopen at Lamphun Station, while Special Express Train No. 10 is waiting at Chiang Mai Station.
