Father Duk and Mother May Unable to Hold Back Tears, Bid Final Farewell to Son Nong Termfun

Heartbreaking "Father Duk and Mother May" could not hold back their tears as they said farewell "Nong Termfun" their beloved son for the last time amid deep sorrow


At 10:00 a.m. on 4 July 2026, reporters reported that at Sri Koet Temple, Mueang District, Lampang Province, where the funeral rites for 2-year-old Nong Termfun, a victim of a drunk driving assistant village headman, are being held, the family planned to cremate him in the afternoon.

The atmosphere at the temple included religious ceremonies before moving the body to the cemetery. Villagers and volunteers brought drinks and food to distribute free of charge to those attending the funeral rites. Additionally, members of parliament and local politicians from Lampang Province attended to pay their respects to Nong Termfun.

Mr. Methasin Chailinfa, chairman of the Drunk Driving Network Coordination Center under the No-Drunk Driving Foundation in Lampang, along with members and the network, presented financial aid to Nong Termfun’s family. He revealed that, as a fellow victim of drunk driving, he understands the emotional difficulty of this ordeal and sympathizes deeply with the family. He urged relevant authorities to implement legal measures or methods to seriously assist victims of drunk driving.

At 1:00 p.m., at Pratu Ma Cemetery, Mueang District, Lampang, where Nong Termfun’s cremation took place, after the religious ceremony at Sri Koet Temple, villagers placed sandalwood flowers on the coffin amid deep sorrow. Some were unable to hold back their tears before the coffin was moved from Sri Koet Temple to Pratu Ma Cemetery.

Upon arrival, rescue workers and relatives placed Nong Termfun’s body in front of the crematorium. Father Duk and Mother May could no longer hold back their tears as they said their final farewell to their beloved son, crying in deep grief.

Many attendees were moved to tears, feeling sorrow for Nong Termfun, who was only 2 years old and had to leave this world due to a drunk driving incident, before rescue workers assisted in the cremation.
