Lottery Committee Visits 8th Community Development Lottery Project in Chiang Mai and Lamphun

The Lottery Committee visited the 8th Community Development Lottery Project, attended the GLO CUP qualifying matches, and distributed care packages as part of the GLO Caring Home project in Chiang Mai and Lamphun provinces.

On 10 July, reporters reported that recently, the Government Lottery Office (GLO), led by Pol. Col. Dr. Akrapol Boonyopatsadum, Lottery Committee member and Chairman of Corporate Communications and Social Responsibility, together with Lottery Committee member Wachiraya Permphusri and other senior executives including Col. Nun Sansanakom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, participated in CSR activities supported by the office in Chiang Mai and Lamphun provinces.

On this occasion, they visited the 8th Community Development Lottery Project at Wat Srisuphan community in Chiang Mai, known for its distinctive silver craftsmanship and metal embossing skills, a tradition passed down for over 700 years. The community continues to advance this knowledge under the guidance of master craftsman Direk Sittikarn, a 2022 National Artist in Visual Arts, and participated in a workshop learning silver embossing techniques.

Next, the group traveled to the Tai Lue Muang Luang Nuea community in Chiang Mai, noted for preserving Lanna cultural heritage with its ancient architecture and traditional lifestyle. Through cooperation among the "Home–Temple–School" system, wisdom is passed from generation to generation. They also joined a local cooking workshop where traditional dishes were developed by a project advisory team to become a highlight for gastronomy tourism, offering unique experiences for visitors and generating income circulation in the community.

Then the delegation visited the GLO Caring Home project in Lamphun, where the Government Lottery Office, in collaboration with the Community Development Department under the Ministry of Interior, has been building houses for residents with unstable housing.. . .They also addressed residents’ difficulties through the TPMAP system. On this occasion, they presented care packages containing essential items to Mrs. Banleng Kawari, a beneficiary homeowner under the project, as a gesture of encouragement.

Reporters added that on the same day, the group attended and encouraged youth football competitors and presented jerseys to those selected for the GLO STAR 2026 northern region at the Lamphun Provincial Administrative Organization Sports Stadium. This was the final regional qualifying round among seven regions nationwide. The national championship featuring the final 32 teams is scheduled from 29 to 31 July 2026 at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang Sports Stadium, and on 2 August 2026 at the National Stadium (Supachalasai Stadium) in Bangkok.
