Yesterday (10 Aug 2026 GMT+7), a student at the school posted a threat of violent action in a group chat targeting a particular group of students who were bullying others, as well as those who supported the bullying. The message was screenshot and forwarded to a parents’ group chat, causing alarm and prompting reports to the school. As a result, the school immediately contacted Mae Ping Police Station to send officers to investigate from that day for safety reasons and to track down the student who posted the threat. The student admitted the message was posted impulsively among friends and did not anticipate it would escalate into a major issue.
This morning, the teaching staff, together with Mae Ping Police Station officers, conducted bag inspections on all students before entering the school since the school was holding a Mother's Day event. Meanwhile, Pol. Maj. Gen. Yutthana Kaenchan, Commander of Chiang Mai Provincial Police, told reporters that the police have identified the student involved in sending the threatening message.
