At 16:55 on 19 Aug 2026, the fan pageNan Provincial Public Relationsreleased updated images of the flooding situation in Pua District, Nan Province.
It stated that Mr. Chainarong Wongyai, Governor of Nan Province, visited the area to monitor the flash flood situation, which began early this morning with fast and strong water flow caused by heavy, accumulated rainfall in the upper watershed.
Current assessments show water levels have dropped in many areas because the flash flood was fast-moving, though it caused widespread damage. Authorities remain cautious as rain continues to accumulate in the northern region. All agencies, including rescue volunteers, have deployed machinery, equipment, boats, and jet skis to fully assist residents.
A warning was issued for residents in low-lying zones in the southern parts of Tha Wang Pha, Mueang Nan, Phu Phiang, and Wiang Sa districts to move belongings to higher ground and seek safe shelters, such as centers set up by each district. People are advised to charge mobile devices, prepare essential supplies, closely follow news updates, and comply immediately with evacuation orders from officials. Residents must remain alert for the next 2-3 days as rain continues in Nan Province.
Most recently, officials have mobilized two cranes to urgently repair high-voltage power poles. Power outages remain across nearly all of Pua District.
