On 20 August 2026, Chutimaporn Charapok, 52, assistant village headman of Ban Kaem Rat Phatthana, Village No. 4, recounted that the mother pig, about two years old, was carried by floodwaters since midnight on 19 August. No one knew which village the pig came from or who owned it.

Chutimaporn further explained that the flooding in Ban Kaem Rat Phatthana resulted from changes in the waterways since Typhoon Wipha in 2025.
