
The Development Military Unit NPK.36 deployed forces to assist after a mudslide buried homes in Ban Kon Phueng. Five villagers were injured and sent for treatment at Sob Moei Hospital.
On 20 Aug 2016, the Territorial Development Command (Royal Development Corps), through Mobile Development Unit 36, Regional Development Office 3, Development Command (NPK.36, RDO 3, RDC), dispatched a rapid disaster relief team of six personnel with one patrol vehicle. They joined forces with the Mae Katun Subdistrict Administrative Organization to urgently search for and assist victims of flash floods and a mudslide in Sob Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province.
After continuous heavy rain caused flash floods, the soil layer slid and collapsed, resulting in a mudslide that buried the home of Mrs. Bia Kang Phaithipitwong, a local resident of Ban Kon Phueng, Village No. 5, Mae Katun Subdistrict, Sob Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province. Initial inspections found a total of five injured individuals.
Initially, NPK.36 personnel, together with local agencies, took control of the situation, provided urgent first aid to the injured at the scene, and arranged the evacuation and transport of all injured persons to Sob Moei Hospital for further medical treatment.
