In Phrae Province, CCTV footage captured an accident where a fruit-carrying pickup truck revved its engine, lifting its wheels before losing control and sliding along the road, nearly hitting a student on a motorcycle parked by the roadside. The student ran for safety.
Reporters say social media has been sharing CCTV footage showing a pickup truck with a cargo cage carrying rambutans that lifted its front wheels off the ground before losing control, flipping over, and sliding along the road. The truck nearly hit a student sitting on a motorcycle parked in front of a grocery store. Fortunately, the student managed to dodge in time. The incident occurred near Rong Kwang Chanthimakom School in Rong Kwang District, Phrae Province.
According to Ketsaraporn Thikiao, a volunteer with the Phetkasem Phrae Foundation (Phrae 07) who owns a shop near the scene, the incident happened around 21:30 on 14 Sep 2026. She was preparing to close her som tam (papaya salad) shop when she heard a vehicle revving loudly as it sped out from a convenience store in Rong Kwang Market. Then she heard the engine rev higher and the screeching sound of tires on the road, before the pickup truck lifted its front wheels and lost control, flipping over in front of the grocery store.
In front of the grocery store, a student from Maejo University was sitting on a motorcycle waiting to buy items. Upon hearing the noise, the student looked up and saw the truck losing control, heading toward the motorcycle. The student immediately jumped off and ran into the shop for safety. After regaining composure, Ketsaraporn asked her husband, Siripong Thikiao, a volunteer with the Phetkasem Phrae Foundation (Phrae 37), to help. They found the driver, a man aged approximately 30-40 years, who was alone and had sustained an arm injury. He was then taken to Rong Kwang Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no one was killed in this incident.
