Accumulated Rain and Flash Floods Hit Lom Sak District, Affecting 300 Households

Accumulated rainfall and flash floods have inundated several areas in Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province, since early morning, affecting 300 households. Efforts are underway to evacuate residents to safe locations.

On 19 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reporters covered the flash flood situation in Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province. Accumulated water from storms hitting Lom Kao and Lom Sak districts caused flash floods from the Pak Chong mountain range to inundate multiple subdistricts in Pak Chong early this morning. Approximately 300 households have been affected. Rescue volunteers from various units have cooperated to use flat-bottom boats to evacuate elderly and disabled residents to safe areas.

Reports indicate that the floodwaters also swept down electric poles beside a canal, nearly toppling them to the ground. Fortunately, no one was nearby, so no injuries occurred.


At the Pasak River, water levels rose to 8.56 meters, overflowing the banks by over 26 centimeters. This caused flooding in communities within Lom Sak Municipality and nearby subdistricts, including Tha Kok Pho and Ban Rai communities, as well as Moo 7 in Tan Diao Subdistrict and Moo 12 in Nong Kwai Subdistrict.

Mr. Pakpoom Phumee, Lom Sak District Chief, stated that water levels in Pak Chong Subdistrict are steadily declining and are expected to return to normal within 1–2 hours. He has instructed all local administrative organizations to prepare their staff, including subdistrict administrative organizations, municipalities, village heads, and subdistrict chiefs, to be ready. They are also preparing disaster relief machinery to support the situation and assist residents around the clock. He urged residents to monitor Pasak River water levels continuously and closely follow official news and warnings to stay alert for flood, flash flood, and flash flood hazards.
