On 28 September 2026, continuous heavy rain for more than 24 hours in Tak Province caused flash floods and landslides in several areas.
A social media clip shared by a Facebook user showed a landslide incident along National Highway 1175, Ban Tak-Mae Ramat route, near Khun Huai Tak Mhong Village, Moo 5, Thong Fa subdistrict, Ban Tak District, Tak Province. This area had experienced persistent rainfall accumulating over several weeks, resulting in a mountain slope sliding and collapsing while vehicles were passing. Nearby residents shouted to warn drivers to quickly leave the area, ensuring safety, but several motorcycles and cars were damaged.
Mr. Chatichai Khongmuang, head of the Thong Fa Highway Division under Tak Highway District 1, announced the landslide disaster blocking the road surface of Highway 1175 between Huai Som Poi and Chedi Yutthahatthi at km 55+942 (Mae Ramat-Ban Tak route). Traffic is currently impassable.
He urged drivers to temporarily avoid this route. Officials will bring machinery to clear the road once the storm conditions improve to a safe level for work.
At Wachiraprakarn Camp Hospital, the 310th Military Circle (Tak) dispatched a water rescue team and military medical personnel on foot into flooded areas. They distributed foot powder, visited bedridden patients, and surveyed affected zones. Soldiers from the 14th Infantry Battalion, 1st Regiment, also deployed seven personnel to assist in Thung Kracho and Thong Fa subdistricts, Ban Tak District, where flash floods overflowed the Tak Stream and submerged homes extensively. The military medical rescue team has relocated several bedridden patients to health stations for shelter.
Additionally, heavy rain caused flash floods to inundate homes in Na Bot subdistrict, Wang Chao District, Tak Province. The strong current swept a temple coffin from a local temple, floating it downstream.
