At 09:45 on 3 Nov 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that the spire of Wat Mai Nong Hoi, Village 6, Santisuk Subdistrict, Doi Lor District, Chiang Mai Province, snapped and collapsed, causing damage. Fortunately, no one was injured or killed in the incident.
Later, Watcharapong Wannamai, mayor of Santisuk Subdistrict Municipality, brought ropes to cordon off the area around the collapsed spire to prevent public access. Officials are conducting damage assessments and urgently investigating the cause of the spire's collapse.
