Thai Soldier Steps on Ninth Landmine Near Prasat Ta Kwai, Seriously Injured in Left Leg

Reports indicate that Thai soldier Sergeant Nititham Srikamsaeng stepped on the ninth landmine, suffering severe injuries to his left leg while on duty near Prasat Ta Kwai.

At 14:20 on 25 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the 2nd Army Region reported that personnel identified as Sergeant Nititham Srikamsaeng from Unit 6 stepped on a landmine near Prasat Ta Kwai while conducting a border patrol mission, resulting in serious injury to his left leg.

Following the incident, the unit immediately provided aid and transported the injured soldier for medical treatment. The area remains under control and is being secured and inspected to prevent further harm to personnel operating nearby.

Relevant authorities are currently investigating the incident details and closely assessing the security situation in the area. Sergeant Nititham is the ninth victim affected by landmines in the region.
