
The Second Army Region announced the border situation just before the ceasefire at 11:46 AM: one soldier stepped on a landmine during a sweep of contact trenches inside a Cambodian base, and two others were shot and injured in the Sattahip area.
On 27 December 2025, the Second Army Region Operations Center issued a statement on the Thai-Cambodian border situation at 1:00 PM.
The Second Army Region Operations Center expressed condolences to the soldiers who stepped on a landmine and were shot in the Sattahip area at 11:46 AM. The 12th Infantry Regiment conducted a military operation to sweep contact trenches inside the Cambodian base located west of Sattahip Hill. During the sweep, Private Narinn Khaoprai stepped on a landmine planted by Cambodian soldiers and was seriously injured, particularly in his left leg.
Additionally, two soldiers were shot and wounded: Staff Sergeant Sirasik Jitboon was shot in the left palm and right arm, and Sergeant Suksan Nonpho was shot in the back of his right upper arm. After the incident, the unit provided first aid and transferred them to a nearby hospital.
The operation at the site is currently in the phase of strengthening security and reorganizing to establish our forces' deployment line moving forward.
