
The Emergency Medical Institute expresses sorrow over the loss of an emergency call operator (Call Radio) in the crane accident that fell onto a train at Sikhiu, while the deceased's body is currently undergoing identity verification.
On 14 Jan 2026 GMT+7, a construction crane from the contractor of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project, contracts 3-4, for civil works between Lam Takhong-Sikhiu and Kut Chik-Khok Kruat, fell onto Special Express Train No. 21 as it was passing between Nong Nam Khun and Sikhiu stations in Nakhon Ratchasima province. This caused many injuries and fatalities and disrupted train services along this route, as previously reported.
Recently, the National Emergency Medical Institute (EMI 1669) posted a message expressing condolences to the families of those who died in the crane accident at Sikhiu district, and paid special tribute to Mr. Patiphan Yimsomboon, the emergency call operator (Call Radio) who died in this incident.
