EOD Team Recovers Unexploded PG-7 Anti-Tank Rockets at Surin Border Area

An EOD team recovered three unexploded PG-7 anti-tank rockets in the border area of Surin Province.

On 28 January 2026, reporters reported that the EOD team from the Surin Provincial Police Investigation Division, together with officers from Phanom Dong Rak Police Station, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit from Border Patrol Police Company 21, and the Surin Provincial Police Investigation Division, conducted operations involving explosive weapons in Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province.

They searched for and recovered unexploded ordnance (UXO), consisting of three PG-7 anti-tank rockets, found in Ban Khok Sa-lang Village, Moo 7, and Ban Nong Khanna Village, Moo 8, Ta Miang Subdistrict. The rockets were safely transported to Phanom Dong Rak Police Station for storage, awaiting transfer to Task Force 2 of the Suranaree Task Force for further destruction by officials.

They also collected evidence from the incident involving a 122 mm rocket that fell on a monk's residence in Ban Khok Sa-lang Village, Moo 7, Ta Miang Subdistrict, and artillery shells of unknown caliber that landed on a sugarcane field owned by Mr. Udom Naepdee in Ban Nong Khanna Village, Moo 8, Ta Miang Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District. The evidence was then delivered to Phanom Dong Rak Police Station.
