Elephants Clash: Male Duan Battles Young Male Tabak at Khao Yai, Wild Elephants Fight Until Tusk Breaks (Video)

A rare video shows two elephants colliding: Male Duan confronts young Male Tabak, wild elephants at Khao Yai fighting until a tusk breaks. The found tusk has been handed over to the relevant authorities for safekeeping.

Facebook user Dawan Pryce posted a video of two wild elephants charging at each other. The post identified the elephants as Male Duan and young Male Tabak, both wild elephants from Khao Yai. In the footage, Male Duan approaches and faces young Male Tabak, then charges and clashes tusks, causing Male Tabak to retreat. Shortly after, the two elephants separate. This elephant clash occurred on 4 February.

On 5 Feb 2026, a broken elephant tusk was found on Thanarat Road, Khao Yai, believed to belong to young Male Tabak. The Facebook page "Khao Yai Elephants, Loved by All" posted a photo of the large tusk, measuring 55.5 cm. The base showed signs of breakage and blood stains were found at the site. The caption read, "Sadly, on the morning of 05/02/26, the left tusk of 'Male Tabak' was found near the Thanarat zone rest area, measuring 55.5 cm. Fortunately, only the middle section of the tusk broke; the base remains intact. Officials reported that last night, 'Pa Duan' followed 'Male Tabak' into this area, likely leading to another fight."

The found tusk has since been handed over to authorities for proper preservation.
