Dashcam footage reveals the moment when a Sky Lab tricycle and two pickup trucks collided in Chaiyaphum, scattering seafood across the road and causing one death and three injuries.
At 07:07 on 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Colonel Nitipat Pikul, an investigator at Phu Khiao Police Station in Chaiyaphum Province, received a report from Phu Khiao Police Station about a multi-vehicle collision with several injured at Ban Nong Kung, Kwang Jon Subdistrict, Phu Khiao District, Chaiyaphum Province, on Route 201, the Chaiyaphum-Phu Khiao road. He coordinated with Phu Khiao Hospital and the Sawang Phutthatham rescue unit to respond.
At the scene, there were two pickup trucks and one Sky Lab tricycle. The first pickup was a white Toyota registered in Bangkok, carrying seafood. Two people were trapped inside: the driver, 37-year-old Apisit Paithakham, who suffered minor injuries and was conscious, and 29-year-old Thanisorn Jaikla, seated in the front passenger seat, who was unconscious. Rescue workers used hydraulic tools to pry open the truck door and rushed her to Phu Khiao Chalermphrakiat Hospital, but she later died from her severe injuries.
The other pickup was a purple Isuzu registered in Khon Kaen, with one injured person trapped inside: 32-year-old Woraphon Seesangnok. Rescue personnel used hydraulic tools to open the vehicle and extracted Woraphon, the driver, who was then taken to Phu Khiao Chalermphrakiat Hospital.
The Sky Lab tricycle, which had no license plate, had one injured occupant: 72-year-old Saman Kamnoetkwa, who was unconscious with a deformed right leg. He was also urgently taken to Phu Khiao Chalermphrakiat Hospital.
On the road, seafood including squid, shrimp, and others was scattered all over the pavement. Officials and nearby residents quickly helped clear the seafood from the traffic lanes to prevent further accidents.
Initial investigations revealed that the Sky Lab tricycle swerved and collided with a pickup truck, which then crashed into another pickup truck carrying seafood coming from the opposite direction. This chain reaction caused three injuries and one death.
After the incident, Police Lieutenant Colonel Nitipat Pikul photographed the accident scene and reviewed dashcam footage from a civilian vehicle that had been following behind, which recorded the events. If the injured recover, they will be summoned for detailed questioning and legal charges will be filed accordingly.
