Wat Mahathat in Nakhon Phanom has resumed cremation services after the governor confirmed sufficient fuel is available. However, refill limits remain to prevent hoarding. Coordination with suppliers has been arranged to assist the temple, farmers, and emergency rescue vehicles.
On 16 Mar 2026 GMT+7, a reporter reported that in Nakhon Phanom Province, Lieutenant Colonel Adisak Noisuwan, the governor, led officials to inspect and address fuel service problems at gas stations across various districts. This was to help alleviate difficulties caused by fuel usage restrictions. He also visited Wat Mahathat in Nakhon Phanom municipality after reports indicated insufficient fuel for crematorium operations, which had led to a temporary closure of services.
Lieutenant Colonel Adisak Noisuwan, the governor, met with temple officials to clarify misunderstandings. He coordinated with the Nakhon Phanom municipality and fuel suppliers to grant exemptions allowing the temple to purchase sufficient fuel stored in containers. Additionally, fuel station operators were asked to be lenient by permitting farmers to fill containers and to provide service to emergency rescue vehicles and government agency vehicles essential for public care.
Governor Adisak Noisuwan stated that although energy-saving measures are in place across Nakhon Phanom, efforts have been made to build cooperation and understanding among suppliers and consumers. He reaffirmed that there is enough fuel for at least 90 days. The controls on refilling are preventive measures against opportunistic hoarding and to ensure adequate supply for everyday public use.
Regarding farmers affected by the situation, understanding has been reached with fuel stations to allow container refills. Emergency rescue vehicles will continue to receive sufficient fuel service. The governor urged citizens to conserve energy during this period and assured that the government will coordinate assistance across all areas. He asked the public not to worry, as fuel supplies remain sufficient.
