Return Trip After Songkran: Traffic on Route 304 in Korat Begins to Thicken but Still Moves

The return trip after Songkran sees traffic on Route 304 in Korat heading toward Prachinburi starting to thicken but still moving. There are slowdowns on uphill and downhill stretches, while gas stations remain busy along the entire route.

On 16 Apr 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that at 3:00 p.m., traffic on Highway 304 from Pak Thong Chai District heading to Wang Nam Khiao District in Nakhon Ratchasima Province toward Kabin Buri District in Prachinburi Province increased after the Songkran festival ended. Many people began returning to work in the Eastern provinces. The number of vehicles steadily rose, causing occasional slowdowns and intermittent congestion, but overall traffic still moved, with average speeds of about 80–100 kilometers per hour. On steep uphill and downhill sections, drivers reduced their speed for safety. Meanwhile, police officers, highway officials, and related agencies continued monitoring the situation and facilitating traffic flow to prevent accidents and reduce congestion.

Observation showed that most pickup trucks were fully loaded with supplies such as rice, dried food, and essential items, prepared by relatives in their home provinces to support their daily lives. This reflects family care after the Songkran festival. When tired from the long journey, travelers stopped at gas stations or rest areas along the route to rest, check their vehicles, refuel, eat, use restrooms, and stretch to relax. This helps ensure both the vehicle and driver are ready to continue their trip and return to work on schedule.
