Disregarding Drama, Disciples and Devotees Flock to Pay Respects to Luang Pu Sila at Suan Tham Phiti Temple

Ignoring the controversy, disciples and devotees have flocked to pay respects and seek blessings from Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto at Suan Tham Phiti Temple for good fortune. A Thai woman flew in from Australia to make an offering after her prayers were fulfilled.

Regarding the case "Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto" announced his resignation as abbot of Wat Phra That Muen Hin in Kalasin Province. He cited the need to rest due to old age and health issues, but many have respectfully urged him to reconsider. After resigning as abbot of Wat Phra That Muen Hin, he will remain a temple monk and continue to be registered at that temple. Meanwhile, he will reside and perform religious duties at Suan Tham Phiti Temple, serving as a patron for both temples as a form of reconciliation, as previously reported.

Today (22 Apr 2026), a special reporter in Kalasin Province visited Suan Tham Phiti Temple (Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto Dharma Park) in Chiang Khruea Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kalasin Province, and found that devotees continue to pour in to pay respects and seek blessings in large numbers.

Ms. Thitaporn PakSopha, 54, who traveled from Australia, said she had come to pay respects to Luang Pu three times and met him each time. Today she came to make an offering after her prayers were answered. She was unaware of the recent drama and said she was very happy to see Luang Pu, adding that seeing his smile always brings her great joy.

Meanwhile, a disciple who has served Luang Pu Sila for over 17 years spoke through the Suan Tham Phiti Temple microphone, explaining that each of Luang Pu's two temples houses an important Buddha statue. The elder statue named Mahanthayos is enshrined at Suan Tham Phiti, while the younger one named Anatayos is at Wat Phra That Muen Hin. These ancient Buddha images are long revered by the Lanna people and Thai devotees. Visitors to either temple can pay respects and seek blessings, as both statues are considered highly sacred.
