Heartbreaking: Pickup Truck Hits Tree, 2 Parents Dead, 2 Children Injured Rescuers Face Childs Tearful Question

A pickup truck lost control and crashed into a tree, killing both parents. Rescue workers rushed to help a 5-year-old girl who sustained minor injuries. They faced a heartbreaking question from her: “Are my parents dead? Will I die too?” They comforted her until she calmed down.

At 16:58 on 30 April 2026, Sawang Saengtham rescue workers in Sung Noen district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, received a report of a pickup truck losing control and hitting a tree on Mittraphap Road heading into Bangkok, near kilometer marker 122+600, close to Kutjik junction in Naklang subdistrict, Sung Noen district. They promptly went to the scene with cutting and rescue equipment.

At the scene, they found a bronze silver Toyota Vigo pickup truck from Saraburi province with severe front-end damage, crushed against a roadside tree. Inside, three injured people were trapped in the wreckage. Rescue workers used cutting tools to urgently free them amid heavy rain that made the operation difficult.

Investigation revealed the victims were from the same family: Mr. Chukiart, 36, the driver, was critically injured. Rescuers performed CPR before rushing him to Sung Noen Hospital, but he later died. His wife, Ms. Hathairat, 32, died at the scene inside the vehicle. Their 5-year-old daughter, Kanyarat, survived with minor injuries.

During rescue efforts, the surviving girl was extremely frightened and asked the rescuers, “Are my parents dead? Will I die too?” This deeply moved the rescuers. They comforted her until she was calm and then safely extracted her from the vehicle.

Preliminary information shows the family was traveling from Nakhon Ratchasima city, heading to work at a company in Sung Noen district. Heavy rain caused slippery roads, leading the vehicle to lose control and violently crash into the roadside tree, resulting in this tragic incident.

Police will continue to investigate the exact cause of the accident. They also urged drivers to exercise extra caution during rain, reduce speed, and use headlights to prevent further accidents.
