The Khon Kaen governor revealed that in the third round of local government officer recruitment, only two candidates withdrew for personal reasons, having secured other jobs. Meanwhile, in Nakhon Ratchasima, four candidates withdrew. It was emphasized that none of these withdrawals are related to any examination fraud.
At 11:00 a.m. on 2 July 2026, Khajornkiat Rakpanichmanee, Governor of Khon Kaen Province, disclosed the report on candidates who passed the competitive exam for local government officer appointments in Khon Kaen. Of the 79 successful candidates, 77 reported for duty, while two withdrew for personal reasons.
The Khon Kaen governor stated that the province had scheduled all successful candidates wishing to accept appointments as local government officers or employees to report to the Khon Kaen Provincial Local Administration Promotion Office before proceeding to their respective local administrative organizations or agencies chosen for their appointments.
This reporting session marks the third appointment round in Khon Kaen this year. Candidates selected for positions in 44 local administrative organizations across 21 districts totaled 79, with 77 reporting in person and two abstaining and withdrawing their rights. The governor congratulated and encouraged the 77 candidates, who form the third group to be officially appointed as local government officers or employees this year.
Regarding the two withdrawals, the governor explained that one candidate had already passed the civil service exam for the Ministry of Transport and thus decided to forgo this appointment. The other candidate, a private individual who passed but did not report, likely had personal reasons for withdrawing. The governor expressed confidence that all candidates intended to secure government positions. Nonetheless, the examination's integrity and transparency will continue to be verified through proper procedures.
He added that if public doubts persist about the fairness or transparency of the recruitment process, it could undermine the morale of those who passed and are about to serve. Therefore, thorough and clear investigations are necessary to restore public trust and reassure all successful candidates.
In Nakhon Ratchasima Province, reporters covered the third recruitment round for local government officers of 2025, held on 1 July 2026 at the multipurpose building of Nong Bua Sala Municipality (Nong Ta Khong Child Development Center) in Mueang District. Vice Governor Wijit Kitwirat presided over the oath-taking ceremony for appointees, joined by Anan Thamthong, Nakhon Ratchasima Local Administration Officer, and Jamroen Plaokrathok, Mayor of Nong Bua Sala Municipality.
Anan Thamthong revealed that 191 candidates were appointed this round: 179 to subdistrict administrative organizations, 11 to municipalities, and one to the provincial administrative organization. Of these, 187 reported, while four did not. Two men currently serving as police officers had passed local government exams but chose to withdraw. One woman withdrew due to chronic illness, and another failed to meet documentation requirements, thus not passing the verification process.
It was confirmed that the four who did not report are in no way connected to or suspected of examination fraud. Each case had clear, verifiable reasons. The appointment process remains transparent, following established regulations and criteria.
