In the case of an 11-year-old special needs boy driving a pickup truck that struck and killed 10 monk pilgrims, market vendors insist they have never seen the boy driving to deliver his grandmother as social media claims.
The incident involved an 11-year-old special needs boy who drove a pickup truck out of his hometown, losing control and crashing into a group of monk pilgrims, resulting in 10 deaths and numerous injuries. Social media questioned how the boy could drive, especially since the vehicle was a manual transmission, not automatic. Later, the boy's mother told police that he took the car keys and drove over 15 kilometers on his own, emphasizing she never taught him to drive. Meanwhile, police coordinated with multidisciplinary experts to interview the boy to determine the cause and take legal action, as previously reported.
Subsequently, reporters visited a market in Mukdahan Province after social media claims that the boy regularly drove to deliver his grandmother there. They met with vendors near the boy’s grandmother, who has sold goods at the market for over ten years. The grandmother rarely brought her grandson to sell goods. According to the vendors, the boy has hearing difficulties and cannot speak. They have only ever seen the grandmother drive herself to the market and never witnessed the boy driving to deliver her.
