He showed us around the small house where Monk Sakorn had lived before deciding to ordain five years ago.
Tearfully, Mr. Somphong said he was shocked and deeply saddened by the news of his brother's death. During the five years of ordination, his brother had devoted himself to meditation and had vowed to remain a monk for life, never intending to leave the monkhood. This pilgrimage was his sincere effort to practice meditation fully, but unexpectedly ended in his death.
Before setting out on the pilgrimage, they had no chance to speak or say farewells because they lived apart. This left unresolved feelings in the family’s hearts. Although they are currently struggling with expenses and lack transportation, they are determined to attend the funeral ceremony. He paid his final respects, dedicating merit and wishing his brother’s soul to rest in peace.
