It has been 16 days without contact, the grandmother of "Halun Solo" cannot eat or sleep, holding a photo of her beloved grandson, still hoping he is safe.

On 29 July 2026, reporters went to Village 10 in Somdet Subdistrict Municipality, Somdet District, Kalasin Province, meeting Mr. Wirat Ratchalee, Somdet District Chief, and Mr. Trinet Kaewsima, Mayor of Somdet Subdistrict Municipality, along with officials from the district Damrongtham Center and community leaders, to visit and offer support to the family of "Halun Solo," the famous YouTuber. They met with Mrs. Som Plengsuk, Halun's grandmother, who was very worried and anxious about her grandson's uncertain fate and situation abroad. The atmosphere was filled with concern as contact with Halun remains impossible.
Mr. Wirat Ratchalee, Somdet District Chief, said that upon learning of the case, he and local leaders visited to encourage Halun’s family and gathered facts. He reported to Mr. Suwanthon Khemthanaphet, Governor of Kalasin Province, who expressed concern and instructed them to support and coordinate with the consulate and relevant agencies to continue tracking Halun’s contact and whereabouts.
Mrs. Som Plengsuk, 82, Halun's grandmother and his guardian since childhood after his parents passed away, said she has been deeply distressed since losing contact with her grandson. She cannot eat or sleep, and it has been 16 days without news or communication. She spends her days holding his photo with longing but remains hopeful that he is safe. Today, she prepared a traditional offering set and prayed to sacred spirits to help find him and enable him to contact them soon and return home safely.
Ms. Bowornlak Pengsuk, 28, Halun’s older sister, said the whole family is very worried after losing contact with Halun. Normally, when he travels abroad, he contacts them first to explain if he will be in areas without internet for a couple of days, and then they can reconnect as usual. But this time, 15-16 days have passed with no contact. Despite this, everyone still hopes he is safe.
Mr. Somsak Butsri, 29, Halun's older brother who announced the search and appealed for social media help, said there is still no breakthrough or clue about Halun's whereabouts. However, they have not given up and are regularly coordinating with the consulate, which has been very cooperative. They are tracking timelines with tour groups and local guides in Georgia to find any leads.
