Kalasin Provincial Administrative Organization Election: Citizens Enthusiastically Cast Votes with No Fraud Detected

The election for Kalasin Provincial Administrative Organization president saw citizens steadily coming out to vote enthusiastically. A 90-year-old grandmother was the first to cast her vote, while Sa-ngaeng conducted field inspections and reported no evidence of fraud.


At 07:45 on 23 August 2026, Mr. Sa-ngaeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, along with his team, visited Kalasin Province to oversee and monitor the PAO presidential election. They were welcomed by Lt. Col. Manun Wichiananit, Election Inspector for Zone 7 of the Election Commission assigned to Kalasin PAO; Police Major General Montri Charanpong, Election Commission representative for Kalasin PAO; Mr. Nawat Boonsri, Director of Kalasin Election Commission; Mr. Krisada Phochai, District Chief of Mueang Kalasin; Mr. Supat Thongrat, Director of the Election Commission for Kalasin PAO; as well as Kalasin PAO officials and staff who joined the inspection.

In the morning, Mr. Sa-ngaeng Boonmee and his team inspected and observed voting at four polling stations in Kalasin Subdistrict, Mueang Kalasin District: polling station 30 at the multipurpose building of Municipal School 1 (Kalasin Pittayasit), polling station 16 at the meeting hall of the Elderly Quality of Life Development Center at Wat Tai Pho Khum, polling station 45 at the Viharn Hall of Wat Chai Sunthon, and polling station 44 at the multipurpose building of Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts. The visit aimed to monitor staff performance, voter assistance, and overall election management in the area.

The morning atmosphere was lively, with voters gradually arriving to cast their ballots even before the polls officially opened at 08:00, especially at polling station 30 at the multipurpose building of Municipal School 1 (Kalasin Pittayasit), where a steady flow of voters was observed.

Meanwhile, Ms. Thammanoon Jongsomchai, aged 90, was brought by her relatives in a wheelchair to be the first voter at polling station 30, arriving 15 minutes before the polls opened. Mr. Sa-ngaeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, his team, and officials assisted her. She urged voters not to neglect their rights, encouraging everyone to vote in large numbers to elect good leaders to manage local affairs.

Police Major General Montri Charanpong, Election Commission representative for Kalasin PAO, visited polling station 45 at Wat Chai Sunthon in Mueang District, Kalasin Province, to check on orderly proceedings. He noted that voters were steadily coming out and that the ballot opening was conducted smoothly.

Mr. Sa-ngaeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, said that from the field visit, the PAO presidential election in Kalasin was lively since early morning, with pleasant weather contributing to smooth operations. Overall, the process was orderly with no complaints or legal violations reported. Unofficial results are expected by no later than 22:00 today.

He also called on all eligible voters in Kalasin Province to come out and vote for the PAO president between 08:00 and 17:00 as much as possible. The Election Commission aims for a 70% voter turnout.
