Khao Yai National Park has announced a temporary closure for 2 days on 26-27 September due to continuous heavy rainfall, raising concerns about dangers from flash floods and landslides.
On 25 September, Mr. Chaiya Huaikhongthong, head of Khao Yai National Park, issued a notice to temporarily close the park for 2 days from 26 to 27 September 2026. Both checkpoint gates—the Shrine of Phra Phor Khao Yai (Pak Chong side) and Noen Hom checkpoint (Nakhon Nayok side)—will be closed.
The reason is that the park area has experienced continuous heavy rain, causing flash floods at several points, making some routes impassable. There is also a high risk of landslides, rockfalls, and fallen trees, which could endanger tourists and visitors entering the area. Therefore, the park management decided to close temporarily to ensure maximum safety.
