Aerial footage reveals floodwaters from Khao Yai flowing into Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Officials are urgently using boats to deliver food and water to multiple affected families.
On the morning of 27 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Suraset Kitsirikul, Chief Executive of Pak Chong Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO), Nakhon Ratchasima Province, assigned the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation officers of Pak Chong SAO to urgently use boats to deliver food and water to many families. This followed continuous flow of water from Khao Yai National Park area through Moo Si Subdistrict, Khanong Phra Subdistrict, into Pak Chong Subdistrict, before reaching Pak Chong Municipality. The volume of water flowing throughout the night overflowed the canal, flooding Pong Pratun village in Pak Chong Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, located just before entering Pak Chong town, inundating over 50 households including resorts.
Within Pak Chong Municipality, the overflowing canal flooded homes along both banks. The water levels have yet to recede, including at the three-way intersection leading to Nong Sarai Market, where flooding on the old Mittraphap parallel road has made passage difficult for small vehicles. Officials remain on alert, continuously providing assistance as needed.
In Pak Chong Municipality, the refuge centers have been established at Wat Kiriwan, led by Phra Metheesutaporn, Deputy Provincial Chief Monk of Nakhon Ratchasima and abbot of Wat Kiriwan, and Phra Kru Suthamtheeranuyut, District Chief Monk of Pak Chong and abbot of Wat Chantuek. These temples have been designated as shelters for residents affected by the flooding, offering refuge as well as restroom facilities with water containers for use.
