Massive Search Launched for 7-Year-Old Nong Boss Missing in Kalasin Rice Field Final Lead Emerges

A massive search is underway for Nong Boss, a 7-year-old boy who mysteriously vanished in a rice field in Kalasin. More than 200 personnel are involved, diving into five suspicious ponds. The final lead indicates someone saw him walking on a road.

On 19 October 2026 GMT+7, reporters stated that over 200 officials and locals are intensively searching for Nong Boss, a 7-year-old boy who mysteriously disappeared from a rice field in Ban Kut Bod, Song Pluey Subdistrict, Khao Wong District, Kalasin Province, since the afternoon of 18 October 2026 GMT+7.

This morning, authorities and the family held a traditional ceremony to ask forgiveness from sacred spirits before resuming the comprehensive search operation. They have spread out to cover rice fields, surrounding ponds, and adjacent foothills. The search is ongoing, but the boy has not yet been found.

Prior to the disappearance, on the morning of 18 October, Nong Boss went to the rice field with his grandfather and grandmother, about 5 kilometers from the main road. He was last seen around 1 p.m. while relatives were busy filling rice. By 2 p.m., they realized he was missing and urgently sought help.

Relatives said Nong Boss often carried a swing and a basket to catch crabs and fish in ponds. Authorities have focused diver teams on searching five risky ponds nearby. Police, local administrative officers, volunteer defense, rescue teams, and about 200 villagers joined the search until midnight on 18 October. The operation paused temporarily due to darkness and safety concerns, then resumed in the morning.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
