Meteorological Center Warns 7 Southern Provinces of Heavy Rain and Strong Winds, Risks of Flash Floods and Landslides

The Eastern Southern Meteorological Center issues a warning for seven provinces of "heavy rain and strong winds" from 25 to 28 December, with concerns over flash floods and landslides.

On 25 December 2025, the Eastern Southern Meteorological Center released its second bulletin regarding heavy to very heavy rain in the eastern southern region, expected to impact the area from 25 to 28 December 2025, stating that

the northeast monsoon currently blowing over the Gulf of Thailand, southern region, and Andaman Sea is quite strong. This condition is causing increased rainfall and heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of the eastern southern region, covering seven provinces: Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.

Residents in these vulnerable areas are advised to be cautious of hazards from thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and accumulated rainfall that may lead to flash floods, mountain stream floods, river overflows, and mudslides, especially in hillside areas.

Regarding sea and wind conditions, the lower Gulf of Thailand is experiencing stronger winds, with waves about 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 2 meters. Fishermen are urged to exercise increased caution and avoid navigating in stormy areas during this period.

The public is advised to closely monitor weather forecasts from the Eastern Southern Meteorological Center to prepare promptly and effectively for the situation.
