Update on the case where a gunman used a 9mm firearm to shoot Ms. Patama, known as "Madam Pat," aged 39, a pork market employee and former loan shark leader. She was fatally shot on the road connecting Krop and Khuan Khiam, Village No. 2, Khuan Ton Bok, Pa Bon Subdistrict, Pa Bon District, Phatthalung Province, in the early morning of 9 January 2026.
This morning, 17 January 2026, reporters reported that Pol. Col. Yutsak Aimsoonthorn, Chief of the Investigation Division of Phatthalung Provincial Police, along with officers from the Investigation Division and Pa Bon Police Station, executed a Phatthalung court warrant dated 17 January 2026. The charges include intentional homicide, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, and carrying a firearm in public without permission or urgent justified reasons. They arrested Mr. Somsak Pratana, 39, in front of a residence in Village No. 8, Wang Mai Subdistrict, Pa Bon District, Phatthalung Province.
Initially, Mr. Somsak denies all charges. However, police possess forensic evidence linking him to the crime, which supported the court’s approval of the arrest warrant. Further updates will be provided as the case develops.
