The Manni ethnic group in Kong Ra and Pa Bon districts of Phatthalung province traveled to vote, proudly demonstrating their Thai citizenship.


On 8 Feb 2026, it was reported that the Manni ethnic group living on Banthat Mountain came down to vote at polling station 1, constituency 3, Khlong Sai Khao subdistrict, Kong Ra district. This station had 21 Manni people registered as eligible voters, who were gradually arriving to cast their ballots.

Regarding the Manni ethnic group's voting, Mr. Sujin Vajakit, Governor of Phatthalung, visited the site to meet and encourage the Manni community at the polling station.

Meanwhile, at polling station 10, village 7, Thung Nari subdistrict, Pa Bon district, another group of 13 Manni people living on Banthat Mountain, led by Elder Tom Rak Pa Bon of village 7, Thung Nari subdistrict, came together to vote.

The Manni ethnic group's voting this time not only fulfills their citizen rights and duties but also symbolizes the acceptance, equality, and political participation of all ethnic groups as true "Thai citizens." "Thai citizens" in a genuine sense.

However, in the afternoon at a polling station in Kuha Sawan subdistrict, Mueang Phatthalung district, an 89-year-old senior citizen came determined to vote despite physical difficulties, supported by relatives who accompanied her to the booth. Election officials assisted her, and she expressed great joy at being able to vote, saying she had never missed an election and urged those who had not yet voted to come quickly to exercise their right.
