No matter how many red lights you encounter, it's bearable if you're stuck in her heart. Krabi Municipality came up with a brilliant idea by installing heart-shaped traffic lights to add color for Valentine's Day.
On 11 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted a social media buzz among people in Krabi Municipality when its official Facebook page posted images of heart-shaped traffic lights. This attracted attention from locals and tourists as the city approaches Valentine's Day, the day of love. These heart-shaped traffic lights have become a new highlight in Krabi, installed at key intersections on Maharaj Road, such as Chang, Nok Insee, and Suea Khiow Dab intersections.
Reporters inquired about this with Mr. Itthichai Tanbut, Mayor of Krabi Municipality, who explained that the idea was intended as a vibrant gift for the people of Krabi during the love festival. The municipality has modified six traffic lights into heart shapes.
Those interested in seeing them can visit various traffic light intersections around the city. The main purpose is to add vibrancy to Krabi and bring smiles to its people, especially during times when many may feel stressed due to economic conditions or other problems. Importantly, the mayor hopes all Thais will love one another more and avoid internal divisions.
