Shooting Incident at School: Initially, One Injured Principal in Critical Condition Taken to Hospital

A shooting incident in Hat Yai initially resulted in one injury, identified as the principal of Patong Pratankiriwat School. He was shot in the arm and ribs, critically wounded and has been taken to the hospital.

On 11 Feb 2026, an assailant armed with a gun stormed Patong Pratankiriwat School, Patong Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, taking an unknown number of students and teachers hostage. Initial reports indicate one teacher was shot and injured. Emergency medical and rescue teams are entering the scene to provide assistance.

Earlier reports stated that during the incident, students, parents, and teachers fled the school in panic, while police are conducting an operation.

At 17:40, intermittent gunfire was still heard, and the number of people trapped inside the school remains unknown.

At 18:06, it was reported that the injured person is the school principal, who was shot in the arm and ribs and is in critical condition. He has been transferred from the university hospital to Hat Yai Hospital.

The hospital confirmed there is currently one injured person and no additional injuries have been reported.
