Officials recently spoke with a Grade 9 student who was released, who told the news team that at about 16:59, the suspect—a former student—entered the school armed, searching for a particular teacher. When the teacher was not found, the suspect announced over the loudspeaker that if the teacher did not arrive within 30 minutes, he would shoot. When the time was up, the suspect shot the school director first. The suspect gradually released uninvolved students. The teacher being sought is now in police custody.
