Owner Urges Police to Quickly Find Person Who Set Siberian Husky on Fire

Heartbreaking for animal lovers, "Molly," a Siberian Husky, was doused with oil and set on fire, suffering severe burns down to the muscle layer. The owner has filed a police report, urging authorities to bring the perpetrator to justice.

On 16 February 2026, reporters visited a home in Village 8, Phawong Subdistrict, Mueang District, Songkhla Province, following a complaint from the owner that their Siberian Husky, which had escaped from the house, was doused with oil and set on fire, resulting in severe injuries.

Mr. Somchai, 52, the dog's owner, revealed that two dogs went missing from the house on 12 February. He searched for them until he found "Molly," the Siberian Husky, burned all over, lying by a pond near the house. The other dog was safe. He appealed for the perpetrator to be caught, describing the act as cruel.

Veterinarian Thanchanok Boonsanit reported that upon admission, Molly had severe wounds on her back and hindquarters, especially burns reaching the muscle layer. Maggots were present on her back. She was unable to eat, severely dehydrated, and had infected wounds. The clinic referred her to Thaksin University Animal Hospital for detailed treatment, as it is better equipped with advanced tools.

Regarding the case, the dog's owner has filed a report with Songkhla City Police Station. Investigators from the police unit have already visited the scene to search for clues to identify the offender.
