Gas stations in Betong have organized fuel purchasing regulations to ensure fair distribution among customers. They have set four days per week for buying fuel in cans and request cooperation to avoid cycling purchases to prevent hoarding.
On 23 Mar 2026 GMT+7, reporters observed the atmosphere at the PTT gas station on Sukyang Road, within Betong Municipality, Betong District, Yala Province. Located at the city entrance and exit, many people queued with cars and motorcycles to wait for fuel before the station opened at 12:00 noon.
Regarding PTT Betong, after announcing a suspension of all fuel sales in cans from 21 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the station adjusted the policy to allow fuel purchases in cans starting tomorrow, 24 Mar 2026 GMT+7. Fuel in cans will be sold only on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Cars and motorcycles can refuel every day. This aims to distribute fuel fairly among customers, including vehicle users and farmers, while requesting cooperation not to circulate cans for hoarding purposes.
Meanwhile, the PT gas station on Rattanakit Road, another fuel provider in Betong District, also saw many people lining up with their vehicles before opening. The queue extended several hundred meters. The first car arrived at 03:00 a.m. and was able to refuel at 06:15 a.m. when the station opened. PT station limits fuel purchases to 1,000 baht and prohibits filling fuel into any cans to prevent chaos and fuel hoarding.
