
Rescue teams mobilized to assist a man who climbed a mountain to forage in the forest and fell more than 5 meters into a ravine in Thung Song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. It took several hours to complete the rescue before urgently transporting him to hospital; his condition remains critical.
Reporters stated that on the evening of 6 April 2026, rescue personnel from Siam Pu In Thung Song received a report of a man foraging in the forest who climbed a mountain and accidentally fell approximately 5 meters into a ravine atop Khao Ban Chongpra behind Ban Wang Yuan School, Moo 8, Thiwang Subdistrict, Thung Song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
The rescue team, fully equipped with life-saving gear, traveled to the mountain peak. They had to ascend the steep mountain with difficulty, exercising caution due to rainfall that could increase danger, and took several hours on foot to reach the deep ravine where the incident occurred.
Investigations revealed the injured man was 25-year-old Teerapol Prodluk, a resident of Thiwang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Relatives said Teerapol’s occupation involved foraging and beekeeping on the mountain. On the day of the incident, he went up the mountain to forage as usual early in the morning but disappeared for several hours. When relatives failed to contact him, they searched and found he had fallen into the ravine, sustaining serious injuries.
Upon arrival at the scene, rescue personnel from Siam Nakhon Si Thammarat found Teerapol unconscious at the bottom of the deep ravine with a bleeding head wound. They planned to rappel down using ropes along with a stretcher board, then secured Teerapol onto the board with ropes before carefully pulling him up.Teerapolwas then carefully hoisted upover several hours until the rescue was successful.He was promptly taken to Thung Song Hospital for urgent medical treatment. His condition remains critical.
