Ferry Fares to Samui and Phangan Increased Again After Diesel Prices Exceed Ceiling

Another fare increase for ferries to Samui and Phangan follows continuous diesel price rises beyond the price ceiling, affecting operational costs. The new fares take effect from 8 Apr 2026, with online bookings applying from the evening of 7 Apr 2026.

On 7 April 2026, reporters noted that Seatran Ferry Company, which operates passenger transport from Don Sak Pier to Samui and Phangan districts in Surat Thani province, announced a fare increase on their Facebook page.“Seatran Ferry”They stated that due to continuously rising fuel prices exceeding the price ceiling, which has increased service costs, the company must adjust ferry fares to maintain service quality and safety. This is based on the rate brackets set in the Surat Thani provincial announcement dated 6 June 2022, for the Don Sak – Samui route –Don Sak passenger fareshave increased from 230 baht to 250 baht. For the Don Sak – Phangan – Don Sak route, fares have increased from 300 baht to 320 baht, effective from 8 April 2026 onward.

For online bookings, the new rates apply starting 7 April 2026 at 19:30. (Fares for other vehicle types boarding the ferry follow the rates listed in section 12 of the annex.)
