On 8 May 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that a video widely shared on social media praised a young male who performed CPR on a foreign tourist who fainted and lost consciousness, collapsing on the street in front of a cold tea shop in Kathu District, Phuket Province. The tourist’s head hit the ground, causing bleeding, until he began to regain consciousness, much to the relief of bystanders.
It was reported that the young man is a student at Kathu Wittaya School who was standing and selling malah when he saw the foreign tourist faint and lose consciousness. He immediately stepped in to perform CPR while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. Many people praised this youth for his quick actions.
Initial inquiries revealed that the young man’s name is “Jojo Sawel,” a student at Kathu Wittaya School. He is known as a diligent boy who sells grilled pork and malah after school to support his own education. Upon seeing the tourist lose consciousness, he did not hesitate to help and perform CPR.
Local residents stated that without Jojo’s CPR while waiting for the ambulance, the tourist might not have survived. This was considered a positive event happening in the community.
