Attackers planted a bomb targeting personnel of Yala Protection Unit 12 while they were guarding outside Ban Pulai School in Raman District, Yala Province, injuring two officers and one local resident.

On 9 June 2026 at 08:28 GMT+7, the Raman Police Radio Center in Yala received reports of an explosion near Ban Pulai School, Village 6, Bala Subdistrict, Raman District, Yala. At that time, officers from Protection Unit 12 were performing security duties for the school and educational staff. Two officers and one local resident were injured. Police Colonel Pongpan Suriya Wong, Chief of Raman Police Station, was notified and coordinated with the Yala Provincial bomb disposal team to investigate.

Upon arrival at the scene, the three injured individuals had already been taken to Raman Hospital. The blast site was about 200 meters from the front of Ban Pulai School. A white pickup truck belonging to the officers was found overturned on the roadside, with a motorcycle also knocked down nearby. A crater caused by the explosion was visible.
