Heavy Rain: Department of Disaster Prevention Warns of Canal Overflow Threatening Floods in Two Districts of Krabi Province

The Department of Disaster Prevention has warned residents after continuous heavy rain in Ao Luek District, Krabi Province. Water in the central canal is expected to overflow, flooding two districts. Small vehicles are currently unable to travel.


At 18:06 on 10 Jun, the Department of Disaster Prevention issued a warning due to ongoing heavy rain in Ao Luek District, Krabi Province, causing the water level in the central canal to rise continuously. It is expected to overflow its banks within two hours, impacting areas along the canal and low-lying zones.

Meanwhile, the Krabi provincial disaster office reported the latest situation: Phetkasem Road inbound to Ao Luek District, Ban Hin Dan Road in Village 5, and the road to Khao Lom Temple entrance in Village 3, Khao Yai Subdistrict, are flooded. Small vehicles cannot pass. Officials are assisting traffic to facilitate road use.

Additionally, heavy rain is falling in Villages 2, 4, and 7 of Ao Luek Tai Subdistrict. Water in the central canal has started to rise above banks. Authorities have ordered monitoring and warned residents to move belongings to higher ground.

In Plai Phraya District, particularly in Kiriwong and Plai Phraya Subdistricts, heavy rain has caused high water levels to flood low-lying areas. Residents are instructed to raise their belongings as water in Phaya Canal is beginning to overflow.
