Cunning criminals sneaked in to remove bolts from streetlight poles along the railway road in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province to steal electrical wires. Fortunately, passing vehicles were not damaged.
On the morning of 20 June 2026, rural highway officials in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province received reports from locals that streetlight poles had fallen and blocked the road along the railway in Pho Sadet Subdistrict, Mueang District, and quickly went to investigate.
At the scene, they found two solar-powered streetlight poles had toppled and blocked both lanes, preventing vehicle passage. Officials cleared the poles to reopen traffic as usual.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the fallen poles were not due to wear or vehicle collisions but because criminals removed bolts at the poles' bases to steal electrical wires. Fortunately, no vehicles were damaged and no one was injured; only government property was harmed.
Authorities will file a police report at Mueang Police Station to pursue and arrest the offenders for legal action.
