Another incident occurred as a homeowner was alarmed and called rescue workers to capture a large king cobra that had invaded the house for the second time in four months. It took nearly one hour before the snake was safely released back into the wild.
A Facebook user, Sukchai Yasawasuvisut, posted a video showing a large king cobra spreading its hood inside a residence located in Soi Naya, Rawai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phuket Province. The post attracted numerous comments from people.
On 21 June 2026, Mr. Sukchai, the video owner, revealed that on the night of the incident he heard his dogs barking unusually. Upon checking the house area, he found a large king cobra spreading its hood inside the property. Shocked, he immediately contacted rescue workers from the Rawai Municipality Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Unit for assistance.
The rescue team took nearly one hour to safely capture the king cobra, which measured about 3 meters long. They then released the snake back into a remote natural area away from the community.
Mr. Sukchai also said this was the second king cobra found on his property within four months, leading him to be more cautious, especially at night. He also monitors his dogs' behavior closely, as they often alert him when reptiles enter the area.
